General Information

The purpose of the Institutional TOEFL test is to evaluate the English proficiency of people whose native language is not English.  Each test uses a multiple-choice format to measure the ability to understand academic English.  The test is given in a single session of about two hours, which includes the time required for completing admission procedures.  The test consists of three sections:

Test Location

The Pacific Rim Language Institute (PRLI) Testing Room is located at:

18760 E Colima Road #A
Rowland Heights, California

Time

The TOEFL Test  will begin at 2:00 p.m.  No one will be admitted to the testing room after the test has begun.  The testing room will open for seating at 1:30 p.m.

Cost

The cost of the TOEFL for students currently enrolled at PRLI is $35.00 payable at the time of registration.  For others, the cost is $40.00 payable at the time of registration.  Prices are subject to change without notice.

Refunds

No refunds will be given.

Registration

Those wishing to take the TOEFL test may register at the main office Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The main office is located at 18760 E. Colima Road #A, Rowland Heights, California, 91748.  Payment for the test must be made at the time of registration.  No telephone registrations will be accepted.  During the week before the test you may pick up an Institutional Testing Program Examinee Handbook and Admission Form at the main office.  Please note that a test administration may close in advance of a test date.

What You Will Need at the Place of Testing

When you go to the testing room, you must take the following items:

  1. Your completed Admission Form.
  2. Your Identification Documents.
  3. Several sharpened pencils.

Identification

A valid passport is the preferred identification document.

Score Reports

Individual score reports will be available approximately two weeks after an exam (sometimes sooner).  Score reports will be held in the main office or, if requested, mailed to the local address given on the Institutional Testing Program Admission Form.  Scores will not be given over the telephone, given to anyone other than the examinee, or mailed to an address other than that listed on the Admission Form.
